We were so shocked, excited, thrilled and still in disbelief that we won this award :-)

Coffin Bay January 2014 ...

So we have had a couple of weeks at the shack and this has been what has happened ...

Jack played 3 of 4 games of cricket in Port Lincoln for the under 14 Lower EP team (the 4th game was cancelled due to heat). They won two of the three games.

On that same day John and Lachlan ventured out past Greenly Island with another friend and his son for their first tuna expedition. I don't want to know too many details because it got a bit hairy weather wise! Luckily they were travelling with another boat of friends and there were about 10 boats out there altogether.

This was the biggest tuna they caught, 30.5kg!!

Needless to say Lachlan and James slept well that night :-)

On Wednesday we headed out into the Coffin Bay National Park for the afternoon and went to Almonta Beach ...

It was lots of fun ... the boys had a go at beach fishing with not success and then some cricket, swimming, exploring and mucking about.

Yesterday was a family fishing trip to Point Sir Isaac and we caught enough fish for tea ... a mixture of tommies, trevally, whiting and flathead.

Then today we gave the new Hot Dog a go around in Kellidie Bay ... the kids loved it (they have only been on friends' ones before).

Jack did have a go but on the next trip with a couple of the boys' friends :-)

Jot Magazine Mood Board 13

I thought I would join in on the latest Jot Mood Board, particularly since Amanda did this one :-)

Rohan turns nine ...

Today our baby boy turned nine ... I can't believe it!!

We decided to go to Port Lincoln for lunch at the Marina Hotel.

and then we came home and after some cricket for the boys we had cake ...

and the mandatory little sister's turn at blowing out the candles ...

And finally I scrapped today ...

Scrapbooking update ...

I haven't posted many layouts lately mainly because I haven't had time to scrap with Christmas etc.

D'Lish {Summer Creative Team} January board ...

Purple haze :-)

And here is my layout ...

I shopped at D'Lish for ...

• Bitty blooms in purple ... there are lots of other colours available too, I can see that I will use these again and again so had a bit of a shop up :-)
• Hydrangea petals in rainbow  ... these have been around since I started scrapbooking but I still love them, also available in other colour combos
• Pearls in purple ... great to scatter as well as use in the centre of the hydrangea petals
• Resin cameo frame in purple ... lots of colours to choose from with these too
• Seam binding in purple ...  this is great to use and a number of colours available

Other than that I used a sheet of purple cardstock, 3 circles of white card stock and the alphas, with part of my title cut from white card stock with my Silhouette.

I adhere the Bitty Blooms to the large circle with glue dots to represent the hydrangeas in the sketch :-)

There is a project over at the D'Lish blog by Sophie Koschmann, that I really want to try ... check this gorgeous Christmas decoration idea out ... at least I have 11 months to get it done now after ordering the supplies ;-)

Here's a little sneak ...

December update ... so far

I spent the weekend at the beginning of the month with 2 friends and our 9 children staying at Coffin Bay and scrapbooking (for me) and patchworking (for them).

The weather was beautiful and the kids had lots of fun.

The Christmas tree finally went up at home ...

Hannah is getting very excited about Christmas ...

I found this idea at Pintrest and made them for Hannah's class party. The trick I found was using the right icing ... royal icing worked well.  I used this recipe from taste.com. The cupcake recipe I used was also from taste.com.

The red "hat" is actually jelly crystals, then a red M & M for the nose, white choc bits and the coarser shredded coconut for the beard.

And this for the eyes ...

Last night was the "Traders Night" or Christmas parade / festival in our local town ...

Doesn't Hannah face painting look amazing?

And now a couple of nights with the kids at the shack while John tries to get the harvest finished.

D'Lish Summer Creative team - December Inspiration Board

I have been lucky enough to have my Spring term at D'Lish Scraps extended for the Summer :-)

Medium roses in white

Flourish with a Bling Grace flourish in Latte

Freckled Fawn stars and such wood chips

I found the gold and white striped straw in a pack at Typo ... love that shop :-)

I coloured the wood chip stars with a Uniball Paint Marker in gold ... remember those gold pens that you shake and press down on to start the ink? Fun and easy and worked really well n the wood chips.

I cut the flourish so I could place a piece either side of my photo.

I had my photo printed through Origrami ... fast service and groovy photos present in a cute little box :-)

I used the sketch as my main inspiration but rather than using a patterned paper for the centre back paper I created a rectangle with red sequins. I adhered them with glue dots.
