Escape 2 Create retreat ...

Wow we don't have long until the retreat now ... and I for one am getting very excited!

We are doing a few different things this year and we are pleased with how things are progressing!

We met yesterday to plan some of the goodies and much more!!

School is back ...

So Wednesday saw the school year begin and 3 boys going off to school ... wow, hard to believe!

It was a hectic morning as 3 boys needed to get ready for the school bus, I was working and Hannah was off to child care! But we did it!

Although I thought the rails were going to fall off as I walked out of school after dropping all the books off at each class room ... I saw a very sad little boy looking lost ... Rohan! After a bit of time and a hug from his teacher he was okay and happily went to school for the rest of the week!

Unfortunately no photos in all the rush!

Australia Day ...

We attended our local Australia Day ceremony, a friend of ours received the Citizen of the Year award which was great to see.

Then we went to their home for lunch. The kids had a great time in their pool with lots of others!!

Then this girl and I had a wonderful afternoon out on a magnificent catamaran ... an amazing experience!!

We were very lucky to have a tinnie on loan from John's brother ...

We caught lots of these ... lots of fun for all of us!! But we need a few new rods!!
We went to the sand bar and found some star fish ...

We ate a few of these and bought a few home ... Tommies!!

Jack & Lachlan's first go on the donut / ski biscuit / what evere you call it!! Lachlan loved it, Jack not so much. Hannah and I had a go ... it was okay and Rohan didn't!!

We had two beautiful meals at this restaurant ... The Oysterbeds ... wow is all I could say after the second one ...

All in all we had a wonderful time and plan to hopefully go back in October and January!!!

So far this year ...

So after this post ...

  • I have managed to read one book and start another ... see the side bar!!

This is the one I am reading now and really enjoying ...

  • today I have got some Christmas decorations prepared for some handstitching ... the patterns I am using are from here as are the photos ...

Anni's projects are beautiful and quite a few of her patterns have fabric kits and the colours and materials she chooses are gorgeous!!

Now to work on the photography!!

Two relaxing days ...

We have had 2 nights with friends at their shack at Tumby ... very relaxing!

The first night we had our Best Bottle dinner ... delicious food ...

(twice cooked pork belly with apple marmalade; lamb cutlets with roasted beetroot, parsnip, zucchini and pumpkin and the most delicious dessert of ice cream topped with a divine sherry shot, frozen blueberries and a nut and filo cigar on the side followed by a cheese and fruit platter)

and some really good red wine ... a great night!

Then last night our friends put on a Greek Night ...

... yummy dips with Greek bread, white bate and marinated feta and olives for mezes

then lamb and chicken souvlaki, lamb and chicken yiros, haloumi, Greek salad, BBQ prawns

Can't seem to move the Midori, pineapple juice and lemonade down the page so here was what we were drinking ... yum!
Yes not very Greek but later in the evening the boys tried the Ouzo and there was no way us girls were going to drink that!

To go along with the Greek theme we had the vinyl version of 20 Greek songs ... the Zorba was played quite a few times but no Zorba line, although one entertaining ice serving (for the Ouzo) display of Zorba!!

A great few days away!
