Oh my goodness ...

we have a new printer that also ...

scans!!

and

faxes!!!

Well I have just scanned a layout but I don't know how to stitch it yet!!

And the fax part isn't quite hooked up!!

But hey it is a start and I love the photo I printed on it!!

Oh it's a Canon Pixma MX860!!

On the farm ...

John asked me to go down to the Edillilie farm today as he needed a photo ...

Being a little silly! No the crop wasn't quite that high!!

But it was fairly high! Given that John is 6 foot 4"!!

Then I spent a bit of time waiting ... this is a very common sight ... "an in crop meeting" ;-)

Then off the wind rower went ...

Escape2Create 2010 ...

well I was going to suggest you head over to our Escape2Create blog and check out our retreat details but ...

woe is me ... it booked out in 9 1/2 hours!!!

Can you believe that!!!

And for most of those hours we were all tucked up in bed!!! The post to show the details went up just after midnight yesterday!!
Very exciting - I received all the emails for bookings so they were flying in at a hectic pace!!

Well ...

the car is pack (well, of scrapping gear!!) and I'm ready to go ...

Tomorrow we have our Scrapathon at Karkoo!! 24 hours of scrapping, if you are up for it!!

Amanda, Sue and I are setting up in the morning along with the 5 businesses who will have their wares for sale.

Can't wait to have a bit of time to scrap and relax!!

It has been a hectic few weeks along with being sick and having a sore back.

And within the next week we are opening the Escape2Create 2010 retreat for bookings!! Can't wait to see who is the first cab off the rank!!

Other than that I am still not sure whether Rohan and Hannah have a very mild case of Chicken "pops" as Hannah called them yesterday. All the kids have been immunised but obviously they can still get the "pops". Have been keeping them away from other kids just in case!

John & Michael have been windrowing the canola for the last three days and aside from John having a breakdown today hopefully they will finish tomorrow.

At our house yesterday ...

we also had another very excited boy ... John!!!

Finally after many, many years of talking about it he has a road train!!

So we loaded everyone in and went for a little drive around the farm!!

Hannah did get happier!!

We had a look at the barley ...

Then we parked out the back ... this is a photo of the truck John drove when we first got married 11 years ago and the truck he will drive this harvest!!

I can't believe after all those years of hearing about road trains that he finally has one!!

At our house today ...

we have one very excited little boy!!

Rohan has his first transition visit to school this morning!!

He was so excited he put his uniform on and then said "Oh I forgot my jocks!!".

Now we nearly have 3 school boys!!

As you can see ... it is very hard to get a nice, sensible photo of 3 boys together at our house!!

Oh and Miss Priss is still asleep!! Missed all the action!

She has been very busy telling us lately that "I'm a girl"!!

Doesn't seem to matter what the situation is she comes out with this!! If we say "our baby girl" she very indignantly tells us "I'm a girl"!!

on the verge ...

Jack & Lachlan scrapbooking ...

Over at Escape2Create the Sue's sketch challenge this month is to encourage the kids to have a go.

So today I sat down with Jack & Lachlan and assisted them in creating a layout.

I think Jack enjoyed it slightly more than Lachlan.

Sheep work ...

We have just got back from helping John shift some sheep from our place to the farm across the road. It all went very smoothly, Jack and Lachlan walked behind the sheep for a little way but it is a warmer day here today so then they got into the car for the rest of the trip!

Our barley crop on the farm across the road.

By the end of the trip Jack, Lachlan and Hannah had stripped down as they were hot!!
I enjoy helping with the sheep.
When I was a child I lived on a sheep and cattle station in the north of South Australia. Dad was the manager for 20 or 25 years (need to check on that).
So we would help him at shearing time and mustering time to yard sheep, draft sheep and shift sheep around the station. It involved lots of long slow trips to muster - the station was 1,00,000 million acres in size!!
We learned to drive a Diahatsu ute one summer because the overseer was away and he needed help. I can't remember how old we were but I couldn't get it into reversed (it had a weird push down manouevre with the gear stick that I couldn't master) so I remember driving through a clump of bushes as I couldn't reverse!!
Before learning to drive the ute we got a big surprise one day when Dad can home with a motorbike for us - very exciting (a little 75). Looking back we were pretty lucky being that we were a family of 3 daughters!!
Eventually we progressed to the bigger bikes when we had to help him!
We were never really into horses - we did have a pony and a horse but the motorbike was always more popular.
I must try and find some photos.

so you ...

summer's coming ...

baby boy ...

one fine day ...

Today ...

it is so beautiful outside we shifted the table under the pergola into the sun and sat outside for breakfast - bacon and eggs ... yum!

It tasted delicious even if it doesn't look it!!

Saturday ...

was our 11th wedding anniversary!!

So we got organised and loaded up the kidlets and headed for Port Lincoln for lunch at the Port Lincoln Hotel.

We shared an entree of garlic prawns and then I had Surf and Turf and John had an Aged Steak (his was melt in your mouth steak and mine was very good). The kids had whiting and nuggets. We enjoyed a bottle of St Hugo cab sauv.

Very relaxing spot to have lunch!

Then we did a bit of shopping and headed home. A little tea of yummy cheese, pate, dips and ciabatta from out local bakery, Five Loaves Bakery.

Then off to bed as I have developed the dry cough that the boys have had for weeks ... eeekkk!!

It's my birthday today ...

Yes I am ...

40

omg

I can't believe it!!!!!

I went to work this morning, staring at 8.30am and I worked until 1.30pm - a little longer than I thought I would.

Then I got home at about 2pm ... my beautiful children and husband were there to greet me.

I walked into our house and I knew my lovely sister in law was there and so I presumed that the wine and cheese on the table were her ideas!!

But I heard a faint giggle in the hall way ... oh my goodness there were a lot of females in my hallway!!

I had a very big surprise!!

We had a lovely lunch of seafood, nibbles, paninis with chicken and salad and then chocolate and and sponge roll and yummy stuff!!!!!

Now they have all headed home and my family are here with me!

And to top it off I got 2 acceptances with a magazine and another invite to do something for a mag so wow what a day!!!

Thank you for all the Face book birthday wishes too!! xxoo
