Feeling better still!!

Well it's Operation Clean Up here today!! LOL!! With 3 nights away and then Mum and Dad coming to stay thought we better have everything ready before we go away.

Finished off an album for Mum last night that I had actually given her for her 60th birthday 18 months ago!! I hadn't finished it then and hadn't done anything to it since. So thought I had better get it finished off before they come over. On the 5th September they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversery. These 3 days in Coffin Bay with the whole family are a casual surprise celebration for that.

And a photo because it makes a post slightly more interesting!!

This is Hannah on her second birthday with her jewels on ... thank you Georgia, Kelsey & Piper for this lovely present ... she loves them!! Actually everyone in the house has tried the necklace (imagine John with it wrapped around his head, a la hippy style!! LOL!!)

On the morning of Hannah's birthday Hannah had everything she received on her or in the little pram that we bought her thanks to her 3 big brothers!!

Our Escape 2 Create retreat is booked out!! Wow can't believe it!!

And I might be teaching my mini book album in Cummins in the near future. I know of 3 girls who would like to do and now the Shabby Chic Shack girls think that they will bring the shop down and I can do my class at the same time. Sounds like fun ... I can teach and shop!!

What's been happening ...

Hi

Well still feeling a bit sick, mainly headaches on and off. Sick of taking Panadol!!

Had a class planning day yesterday for our Escape 2 Create retreat. Really happy with that class idea choice!! Now need to work on my class!!

Worked this morning and just made it through before ending up with a big headache.

School holidays start today so 2 weeks of fun and games!! Next week we head to Coffin Bay for 3 nights with my parents. As a surprise for their 40th wedding anniversary my sisters and their families are coming over too. Mum & Dad and our family are staying a beautiful "shack" right on the water front ... can't wait, it is a beautiful spot. Unfortunately I have to work three mornings but that's okay!!

John has come down with the dreaded lurgy too so it is a sick little house here!

Would love to be scrapping but need to tidy up the scrap / play room for the 1 night Mum and Dad stay after being at CB so should hop to it!!

Maybe I'll have a photo of something to show soon!! I will at least have some after our trip away - can't wait, last time I went to this shack, which is owned by friends, the lighting was great for taking photos of Hannah and Rohan.

Catch you later. XX

Oh dear

I have been sick.

I can't remember when I have ever laid on the lounge or stayed in bed for 3 days!! I felt awful. Today I think I am finally on the mend ... just a little bit of a sore throat, and a little bit of a head ache. The only plus was a couple of kilos dropped off because all I ate in three days was not much, actually nothing at all on Saturday!!

John was fantastic the whole time - yes he is wonderful most of the time!! ;-)

The class on Friday night at Lock was attended by about 13 ladies who seemed to enjoy it, I didn't feel that my teaching was that great. Must try a bit harder when I do it at our retreat in March. I think the Shabby Chic Shack girls have sold quite a few Cuttlebugs and will sell a few more too!!

Speaking of our retreat ... the registrations opened on Monday and there are only 10 spots left!! Can't believe it. Last year we had a few initial registrations and then we had to start advertising etc to get up to our numbers!! WOW to next !!

As a result of being sick I didn't do any scrapping over the weekend and I even struggled to read my new magazines that I bought on eBay ... Scrapbook Trends from USA - they are beautiful magazines if you ever get a chance to look at one!

Poor little Hannah's birthday ended up being a non-event ... I was too sick to make a cake, managed to take a couple of photos in the morning of her with some of her presents but they aren't very good. I think once I recover a bit more we will have a cake after dinner one night this week and pretend it is her birthday!! Poor little thing ... last year John was away at an Ambulance Conference in Townsville and missed her birthday. Next year it will have to be a special one!!

A couple of layouts

Finally finished off a couple of LO's.

Yes you have seen the first one before ... just added a couple of bits to it!!

Retreat class!!

Well last night I started having a think about a class that I could teach for the retreat next year and I think I might just have come up with something!!

Will have to give it a trail run and then consult ... if it's not okay it can always go in the pile of things I've done!!

Our retreat is lots of fun and organising, hopefully this year I will be able to help a bit more with doing stuff to get ready for it!! Felt a bit slack last year.

Had a bit of time to think up an idea last night as Lachlan wasn't very well and coughed on and off all night. Hannah and Rohan have been sick too but thank fully they slept all night! John was in Adelaide for an SAAS meeting last night / today. This morning Lachlan has been very dramatic with his illness!! He is sick but the carry on the rest of us have had to endure so far this morning would surely not help him feel any better ;-)

As a result I am missing my Bump & Grind class (DH name for it) aka circuit class this morning. Really enjoy it but it is hard work!! Two classes a week have been great this term but make for a busy week with 2 part days working too. Hopefully I can keep up to 2 classes next term or at least for some of the term. It gets a bit tricky with harvest starting in October / November.

Looking like it will be quite a warm one here today - good for washing not for crops though.

Now off to work out a few more thoughts for this retreat class ... ;-)

Our escape 2 create retreat

Today Amanda, Sue, Tiff and I had a meeting (LOL sounds official, hey!!) to do some more planning for our retreat. We discussed what sort of classes we are going to run and how, costings (the hard part), decorations, logo ... very exciting!! Still 6 months to go but hopefully the planning will be a bit easier than the first one as we have a bit of prior knowledge now!!

Saw the first dead snake on the road today ... eeekkk, now when I go for a walk! One thing I am really scared of is snakes.

Teaching my mini book class on Friday night at Lock ... looking forward to it. Hope I don't forget anything. Made a couple of cards with the left overs, nothing startling but just a basic example of what you could do!!

And a couple of recent layouts ...

Oh how I wish I could ...

1. stamp straight

2. get a scanner to scan my LO's!!

A recent layout or two or three!!

Hello!!

Hi there,

Well not a lot happening at the moment other than the usual.

Worked on Wednesday and today, community nursing. Really enjoy it.

Today John took 3 of the kids to PL, for 2 of them to see the ENT specialist. No more grommet operations ... for now. Hannah's are out and Jack's still in!!

Tomorrow it is the football and netball grand finals but I might have a day at home with two children!! One sick and one too little to go with Dad!! Maybe a bit of scrapping in there somewhere ... feels like ages since I have done any.

Received a scrap order today with some goodies and the latest Scrapbook Creations ... might find some inspiration in there somewhere!!

Fathers Day

Had a good day yesterday. Went to Coffin Bay for a BBQ lunch down on the foreshore. The boys wanted to do some fishing, which didn't actually last that long!!

Mini book class

I am teaching a mini book class at the Shabby Chic Shack at Lock, SA on the 19th September 2008.

Jo Schell, one of the owners, took the following photos of my mini book.
The girl version, of Hannah.

The boy version, of Lachlan.
I loved using the Cuttlebug embossing folders and dies, very kindly lent to me by my great friend Amanda Hall! Thank you again Amanda!

A few recent layouts

Hello again,

Just had an afternoon of baking!! Tomorrow Jack turns 7 ... wow, can't believe it. Usually we have a cake after school at John's Mum and Dad's with nieces, nephews, aunties and uncles, whoever can come comes!! So that is one cake.

Then we have a cake at home that night with just our little family, after the birthday boy or girl has their choice of tea!! Jack has already requested schnitzel!!

I found a great chocolate cake recipe on this blog http://coconutlime.blogspot.com/, can't find the actual recipe now!! Always the way hey!!

Here is a LO I did recently of my lovely sisters, not sure if I might add a few more embellishments, will repost it if I do! This page is a scraplift of a page by German scrapper Janine Langer, that I found on the Pencil lines sketch blog (http://www.pencillines.com/) .

This one is of the boys at football, first game of this season, at Lock.

Bye for now!

Hannah in her own bed!

Last night Hannah slept in a bed for the first time, all night!! Tonight she went to sleep quickly in her bed!!

Jack will be 7 in two more sleeps ... can't believe it!

Went to Port Lincoln today and got my hair cut and did some shopping. Bought Jack's birthday present ... he wanted a new fishing rod and some tennis balls!! Talk about sport mad!

Saturday night while watching AFL footy on TV Lachlan said "When this is finished can you sing the Melbourne song Mum?" I couldn't stop laughing ... there weren't even the team playing!! He did at least have the words for me to sing!! (Not that I obliged!!)

On the way to town on Saturday Rohan said "Mum why have you got your washing shoes on?" Could not work out why he thought my Crocs are my washing shoes, except that I wear them out to the clothes line to hang out washing, among other things I do wearing them!!
Took this photo of Hannah and Lachlan on Sunday. Tried to take on of all four together ... a bit difficult!

First tooth

Lachlan lost his first tooth today.

It was a bit tense for a while with John running around threatening to pull it out with the pliers!?!

I eventually gave it a yank and out it came! Now there has been a note left for the tooth fairy and great excitement!!

Took some photos of Hannah this morning.

Thanks for stopping by! Hi to Jody, my first commenter!!

Monday!!

Have been attempting to have a spring clean over the last few days. Found some old photos of my parents as children and myself, so might have to scan them and try a few older style layouts for a change.

A couple of recent LO's that I have done.

The first one is for a challenge that I set over at our retreat blog http://www.escape2create.blogspot.com/
The challenge was to scrap a page on your local town.

This next one was one I did on my quest to feel fitter this year !!
This was another challenge at our blog - scrap a page on your work, either a paid job, voluntary job or being as Mum!!

That's all for now!!
