28th Jan photo shoot follow on!!

This is how the rest of the photos progressed ...

" Jack: Here Hannah I'll help you"

Hannah: "No Jack I don't want any help".

Hannah: "I'm off".

Lachlan: "Yo dude where you going?"

Jack: "That's all folks".

Rohan: "What's that Jack? I think I can hear the bus coming".

My babies ...

Photo taken: 0800 Wednesday 28th January 2009

Jack: ready for his second day at school, in year 2.
Lachlan: ready for his second day at school, in year 1
Rohan: ready for his first full day at Kindy!!
Hannah: ready to go to Granny & Pop's, with her backpack on too!

On Tuesday night I told Rohan he had to go to bed because he had kindy the next day. Then Hannah said "Me ... Kindy?" and I said "no" then she said "Me ... Granny's!!". Very cute!!

As you can see from the photo it is still difficult to get a good photo of all four of them!!

Think I better get back inside in the air conditioner!!

Before I melt!!

Pergola post!!

John is climbing down the ladder!! John made all the trusses and sanded / buzzed all the recycled Oregon wood.

This was part way through day one, the rest of the structure was assembled on Saturday morning!! Now to wait for the Colorbond roof, then the pavers, the mini orb and the screening!!

Tunarama Fireworks ...

Last night we went to Port Lincoln to watch the fireworks. They were really great to see, although Hannah didn't really like them too much! And I discovered that I need more practice at trying to photograph them!!

Jack & Lachlan went on their first semi scary side show ride!!

Here is Jack (R) and his cousin!

Getting ready to watch the fireworks ... it seemed to be a little late starting.

Rohan was there too but wrapped up in a sleeping bag to keep warm with his cousins!
And the fire works ...

They launch them from the town jetty and they were really good!

Happy Australia Day

Hope you have a great relaxing Aussie style day!! We are heading to friends to have a BBQ - should be fun!!

This week ...

Well after our lovely day Saturday the beach fun didn't end there.

We went to Tumby Bay to stay with some friends at their shack, for one night. John spent the day fishing and I went over late afternoon with the kids. Had a yummy freshly caught fish tea and a few cold drinks! Very relaxing and a bit of a late night ;-)

Next morning after breakfast we ended up staying for lunch and even though we had stripped the beds and packed the car we decided to stay another night ... so relaxing and the kids were all having fun. So we indulged in a few cool drinks ... John tried quite a few concoctions made up by our host!!

Then we had a curry tea ... yummy.

However Hannah hadn't had a day time sleep and she was hysterical at 10pm so I lay down with her.

Tuesday we headed home after the kids had a pancake breakfast.
Wednesday and Friday ... I have worked.

Thursday we had a retreat meeting to sort out more of the nitty gritty plans ... as it is less than 2 months away ... eeekkkk!!!!

No scrapping as I need to get to Rabbit Photo to print some off ... planned to do that next week on Tuesday. I think I'll be there a while!

Today the transformation has begun ...

I'll post an after picture when it's finished ... it has taken 7 months to get to this point! Don't hold your breath!!
You may be wondering what I mean ... a pergola!!! I saw a lovely one at a friend's house (Brigette) and came home with some photos of it ... as you do!! Then John and I had a plan!!!

We went to Hall Bay then on to Point Drummond ... wow that is one beautiful spot ... we will definitely be going back there!

Here it is ...

Then we headed off via the Coast Road to the main road and on to Farm Beach, another favourite spot. We got there at about 3.30 or so and the boys played cricket, Hannah wasn't so sure about the sand at first, even though she loves the water at the pool!!
The three boys went for a walk up the beach to see our neighbours!!

Jack and Lachlan ...
Cheeky Miss Hannah ...

'08 harvest

The journaling reads ... "On the farm ... It wasn't the best of years, with rain interruptions, our truck being fixed and taking weeks, having to pay for carriers to cart the grain to the silos, low barley prices, and feed wheat but grateful everyday that we had a crop to reap with good yields."

Scrapping again ...

Holidays at home ... !!!

Well today was relaxing ... slept in slightly, went into Cummins to see John's dad for a belated Happy Birthday (on the 8th ... also Elvis's birthday, which his son reminds me of every year!!).
Oh, but no I had a special job to do today ... I was an Ambo helper!! No one else was available (it is holiday time!!) so I went for a ride in the Ambulance ... lucky I'm a nurse so I could actually be of help!! My first ride in the back of an Ambulance with a very considerate driver (my DH) so we knew when all the bumps were coming up!!

Then we went to see "Pop".

Then home, a little rest, and a bit more scrapping. Then I thought I'd escape the visit to the pool that the boys had planned but Hannah woke up just as they were walking out the door so we all went.
After their swim ... Hannah got very cross when she had to get out, she loves the pool ... it is hot chips time ... Jane & Sean cook fantastic hot chips ... here is a photo!

Then home for tea ... Salt and Pepper Calamari and the yummiest Asian style coleslaw type salad (A Jamie Oliver recipe) and then TV time for the kids and WWW time for me!!

Tomorrow ... probably more of the same except for the Ambulance!!
Will post a couple more LO tomorrow ... still can't believe how many I am getting done in the last week or so!! Hadn't scrapped much for a while before this!

Healthy quiche type things!!

Hi ... today after swimming we came home via Edillilie (to pick up a truck) and then I made these ...

I found the recipe on Kate Mason's blog a while ago and they are easy and yummy.

You need:

3 slices of Mountain bread, cut into 1/4

200g low fat shreded ham

1 cup low fat grated cheese

3 eggs, whisked lightly

a splash of milk

a handful of baby spinach or rocket

10 baby tomatoes, cut up roughly with kitchen scissors

Into a bowl add eggs (whisked up), ham, cheese, tomatoes, baby spinach / rocket and splash of milk. Mix together with a large spoon.

Spray a muffin tray with olive oil spray. Line each hole with a piece of the Mountain Bread, carefully so as not to put a rip in the bread.

Spoon mixture into each spot.

Bake in 180 degree oven for about 20 - 25 mins. Carefully lift out of muffin tray and cool on a rack.

I freeze them and they are great still.

A layout!

Happy birthday Rohan!

Rohan turned 4 today!

The chaos that is blowing out the candles!

Each birthday the boys' cake gets put on their special cake that Peter and Annette had made when they were born. Unfortunately Hannah missed out on a plate as the girl doesn't make them any more!

This cake is a delicious recipe and easy to make and my standard birthday cake recipe!! I got it from the Coconut & Lime blog a few years ago!

Here is the link ... chocolate birthday cake. It is yummy!!

This weekend ...

Well hello!!

What have we been up to?? Well New Year's Eve we went to a party not far from our farm, on another farm with some great friends. Had a great night and a little headache on New Year's Day!! As you do!!

New Year's Day (Thursday) we went for lunch at a friend's shack at Coffin Bay ... great day and just really relaxing sitting on the decking, having a BBQ lunch and then a late pizza tea and coming home. The kids had a ball and we had fun chatting and laughing with friends!

Friday I worked in the morning and then caught up with Jeannie and Ingrid for a chat and birthday wishes for Jeannie. Then home for Hannah to have a sleep and then off again!! This time to Annette & Peter's for a harvest cut out BBQ. Enjoyable evening and yummy food.

Saturday saw us enrol Jack & Lachlan for VacSwim for this week coming and then off on our adventure!

We drove to Port Lincoln. John took the boys to see Madagascar 2 and Hannah & I did a bit of shopping (Rohan's birthday present in particular!).

Then the fun part ... we stayed the night at the Port Lincoln Hotel!! Or as the boys call it Mark Rusciotto's hotel (former captain of AFL team Adelaide Crows !!). We checked in then looked around, then had a swim in the pool! Then Hannah had a sleep and I took the boys to a playground for some time out! Then a few photos in our room, well actually we had 2 rooms to fit us all in!!

At 6.30 we went for tea in the dining room and then for a walk to get an ice cream, then back to our room/s ... eventually to bed!!

Had a yummy breakfast in the dining room this morning and then off to the Hardware shop to check out the timber for our timber panel fence for one side of the pergola ... when it is erected eventually!!

Then home!
Oh then off to Cummins for a swim at the pool ... great pool at Cummins!
Will add some more photos later.
