My retreat class project ...

My retreat class was to make this mini album / wallet ...

I was inspired to make this project after reading Jen Davis's blog ...

so sought her permission to make my project as a result and she was happy for me to do so!!

Escape2Create Retreat 3 ...

Well

...we are home ...

... we are tired ...

... we are very happy with how it all went off ...

... we are talking about number 4 ...

... we might just be mad ...

... we might just have a mini retreat to plan soon too ...

... we truly love doing it ...

... we think a few other people truly love coming ...

... we think that makes it all worth while ...

So bloomin' surreal ...

I still can't believe that we will be on our third Escape2Create retreat this time tomorrow night!

Today we headed on down and started the set up ... it went really well!

Even planned a last minute look for the main hall that we are all pleased with!!

The car is packed and I am virtually ready to head off in the morning ... drop Hannah off ... go to work and then head on down with a Four Loaves bakery coffee in the cup holder to North Shields!!

It is getting so exciting ... it is so lovely to have Mel here with us!

Just need to pack a bottle of wine or so and then I will be completely ready!!

Just hope I get a little bit of scrapping done!! Stay tuned!!

Not long now ...

Well tomorrow is set up day for the retreat ... I can't believe it!

Then after work Friday I head down and meet up with Amanda, Sue and Mel!

I have piles of stuff everywhere in our craft / play room ready to be packed into the car!

My dear husband surprised me today with the arrival of a laptop so I can take that to keep track of costs and for our Power Point class presentations!!

I keep on checking lists and double checking to make sure I haven't forgotten anything ... I keep on checking our financials to make sure I have all the costs included ... so much to think about!!

But on the whole very exciting ... this is our third retreat and each one is slightly easier than the previous as we sort of know what we are doing now!

So what has been happening .... ???

working
socialising
packing for the retreat ... I have just started ... I usually take way too much so have decided to pack my Studio Calico kits into zip lock bags, along with some new papers and then a selection of favourite embellishments, stamps & inks, punches and alphas ... we'll see what I actually take in the car ... probably way too much as usual!!
housework ... I think I could do that a lot more often but I'm not sure if it would make much of a difference ... I seem to be chasing kids' mess constantly!!
having tuna for tea ... very fresh ... collected by John at 10pm last night from a friend!! Yummy and a few more meals worth in the freezer!
finally booked a hair cut ... when are then going to invent a pill to prevent grey hair?
after the retreat I am hoping to do some patchwork ... bought some fabric last week to make Rohan a quilt ... reds, blues, oranges, greens ... a bit different for me but I can't wait to get started
going to the gym but can't wait to get back to 3 sessions a week next term as 2 isn't enough!
enjoying a few wines on the weekends after 4 weeks of no alcohol ... except for the 1 night out John & I had in Adelaide 1/2 way through the 4 weeks and I was very restrained (only 2 glasses of wine!)
received the family photos that my sister had arranged when we visited them recently ... some lovely ones, my family and John and I have never had photos like that done before.

Dinner tonight

Dinner was yummy ...

Atlantic salmon with a Dijon and white wine vinegar sauce sprinkled with crispy baby capers and served with steamed baby potatoes, zucchini sauteed with feta and roasted capsicum!!!

Yum yum!

Washed down with a Giesen Sauvignon Blanc!!
