Today ...

we had an Escape2Create meeting and started planning for the 2011 Retreat - getting excited already!!

We have 4 quests teaching and we have decided on a logo!! Very exciting!

This evening I am home with my littlest chick because she has been unwell for the last 2 days ... hoping she will be better tomorrow.

One of our favourite dishes at the moment ...

Laksa with tommie roughs!!

The tommies don't defrost for normal cooking (ie crumbed in the fry pan) that well but we have discovered that they are delicious in this dish!!

I buy the Ayam Malaysian Laksa paste (it is medium in hotness) and follow the recipe (roughly - depending on what is in the fridge or pantry) that is on the jar.

Last time we added the hard boiled egg and that was quite nice. I also like to add maybe a tin of baby corn. bok choy, chopped and red capsicum or a tin of water chestnuts or another Asian vegetable that you can buy in tins at the supermarket!

Goes nicely with a glass of Pikes Sauv Blanc too!! LOL

Sunday in the boat ...

We decided to have a day out in the boat as with harvest around the corner we would run out of weekends.

Unfortunately our luck with fishing is completely out the window - caught lots of whiting that we had to throw back as they were too small.

This boy loves handling the fish ...

This boy loves casting and is actually getting very good at it!!

This boy fed the pelicans while watching a friend fillet their catch!!

Then we got home a bit late (considering school was the next day!!) after staying at our friends' shack for pizza and a glass of wine!

Lots of fun!

Rohan's first excursion ...

A week ago Rohan's class went on an excursion. Hannah and I went along too!!

to see this huge eagle's nest ...

 then we had a sausage sizzle!

Hannah had a lot of trouble understanding what an excursion was!! LOL

But I think the kids had lots of fun!

E2C Scrapathon ...

was held on the weekend at Trinity Haven, near Tumby Bay ...

we had a wonderful time!! Scrapping, mixing cocktails, drinking cocktails, eating yummy food, laughing, laughing, laughing, oh so much laughing!

I did manage a few layouts ...

And a mini book ...

not sure if I might add some more stuff to this so wont show the inside yet!!

Now to start the planning for the E2C Retreat in April 2011!

A big day today ...

this morning saw 4 children getting on the school bus!!

And yes she went off to kindy in a tiara!! Well it is a very important occasion!! LOL

I had many attempts at taking a photo of all 4 of them but I am a failure in the photo taking department I have decided!!

Books ...

So on the books front recently ...

A Perfect Proposal by Katie Fforde ... pure chick lit! Very easy to read ... girl meets boy sort of story. Not really the sort of book I generally read but a good "spacer book"!!

then I moved on to a book I bought at least a year ago ...

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Anne Shaffer & Annie Barrows

... absolutely loved it!! When I started out reading I thought "eekkk letters" as the story but it was really well written and funny and I read it in less than a week (started Monday and finished this morning!). It was a really interesting read as well with the story being based around the Guernsey Islands after the second world war.

Unfortunately the author died before it was published and her niece went on to see it published. I would have loved to have read more books by this author.

I started this a while ago and have read about half. Amanda would like to borrow it so I should finish reading it!! She has heard the movie isn't as good but I would be interested in seeing it after I have read the book. It might be on DVD by Christmas!!

4 days, 5 nights ...

We have just had a lovely mini break away at Coffin Bay ... beautiful!

Ate too much and drank a little too much ( ;-) but it was so much fun!

We went out in the boat twice but didn't have very much success on the fishing front. Luckily we had enough for a meal on Friday night and then we had dinner guests that provided us with some yummy fish last night!!

Then arrived home this afternoon to unpack this ...
